Since Saturday morning, the surrounding of the city of Ein Issa has been witnessing a violent attack by Turkish forces and affiliated armed opposition groups in an attempted advance to control the area on international road M4.
As North-Press has reported violent clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the armed opposition groups on axes around the city of Ein Issa and the areas surrounding the camp, in the northern countryside of Raqqa.
The clashes are accompanied by intensive shelling by the opposition groups, responded by the SDF to, as the attack takes place days after Turkish forces accompanied by the opposition groups infiltrated the Shirkrak silos, which overlooking the city, and did not withdraw from it despite the Russian claim to mediate to implement the mechanism of withdrawal from silos .
Moreover, the shelling expanded to reach areas in the city of Ein Issa, causing a large displacement from the city towards its countryside, as the bombing and surprise attack cut the road M4 from a new axis.
5 days earlier, North-Press spotted the control of Turkish-backed armed opposition groups and Turkish forces on the silos of Shirkrak area on international road M4.
Special sources have told North-Press that Russian forces were continuing talks with Turkish forces and the opposition groups in the silos, to push them out of the silos which had been controlled by the latter.
The process of controlling the silos took place through infiltration of Turkish reinforcements into the region, as it entered to the silos of Shirkrak following the separation of the Russian and Turkish patrols from each other nearby the mentioned area, after a tour through which they explored the region.
It's worth mentioning that since the 9th of October, 2019, Turkish forces and affiliated Syrian armed opposition groups, have been conducting a military operation in the area from Ras al-Ain to Abu Rasin and Tal Tamr, to Ein Isa and Tal Abyad countryside.
